alexander skrjabin - vers la flamme by vladimir horowitz

this is an impressive demonstration of piano music, both by skrjabin (1872-1915) and by horowitz (1903–1989).
after watching the video i want to run into the concert hall and listen to skrjabin for at least 4 hours. oh no unfortunately there is always beethoven, schumann, schubert and dvorak played...very difficult...

  1. Indeed, Skryabin is one of the great composers, like Beethoven, Schumann, Schubert and Dvorak. The reasen Skryabin's music (orchestral and pianosolo) is not very often played in the concert halls, is because most works are very difficult to interprete. When the orchestra's and pianists are better in the future , this wil change...

  2. thank you for your comment. horowitz himself seems to be pretty exhausted after playing his music. i feel that things will change in the classical music scene soon. i hope i can experience that in a concert hall one day.
